Samsung Galaxy J7 review

Hitting the market in July 2015, the 5.5 inch Samsung Galaxy J7 is Samsung’s attempt at competing in the online market for mobile phones in India. Retailing exclusively on Flipkart, this device retails for Rs. 14,999. Its 720p screen and plastic body places it firmly in the mid-range market, where it's up against the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 4, Asus Zenfone 2, and Lenovo Vibe X2. Its technical prowess makes it a worthy competitor in the Indian market at its price point.
The phone runs on the Android operating system, which is currently the most popular platform on the market. Given that the phone is only a year old, it should be able to run the most recent apps and software just fine.

Camera Rating: A-
The Galaxy J7 LTE has a 13 megapixel rear (primary) camera, which will produce high quality photos. Its 5 megapixel front camera makes it a good selfie phone. It can capture 1080p high definition video with its primary camera, which is second only to 4K in terms of recording quality.
The main camera can reach f/1.9, which is a very large aperture for a smartphone. This allows the Samsung Galaxy J7 LTE to let in more light as well as take shallower depth of field photos.

Display Rating: A
The Galaxy J7 LTE has a 5.5 inch display, which is a little larger than an average phone released in 2015. Because its screen is over 5.3 inches, this phone also qualifies as a phablet. This also means that for most users, the phone will be difficult to use with one hand when compared to phones with smaller screens.
The screen has a resolution of 1,280 pixels by 720 pixels, making it a 720p HD screen. Display sharpness can be measured in the density of pixels per square inch of screen, and at 267 PPI, it's about average for phone released in the last year.

Battery Rating: A-
The Galaxy J7 LTE has an advertised talk time of 18 hours, which is significantly longer than 10 hours, the average of phones released in the past year. In terms of battery capacity, which is the actual electric charge the battery holds, this phone can hold 3,000 mAh, an above average battery capacity for a smartphone released in 2015.

Design: Sleek Form Factor with a Very Heavy Body
The phone's plastic body is 152.20 mm high, 78.70 mm wide, and has a depth of 7.50 mm, 15% thinner than the average smartphone released in the last 12 months. In fact, it's thin enough to have a case and still be thinner than an average phone.
With a weight of 171 grams, it's much heavier than most smartphones its size. The phone has a large battery for its size, which weighs it down.
